About ready to give up on this game...

Picked up the game last week and have been getting alot of enjoyment from it. But one thing is stopping me. A dam "Fusion Generator". I have been to 650 systems, checked each vender (some twice) regardless if they suppose to sell it or not. Mostly Traders is what I thought. I have not seen one Fusion Generator Factory anywhere. I am just getting to the yellow ore zone already, and still nothing. Well yesterday I played for another 6-8 hours, and nadda dam one to be found. So I ask the forum.

1. Is there a way I can set up a factory to make the thing I need? <---prefer not to at this time.

2. Can I found a ship in a sector and have a vender sell one to me?

3. Is there a way to just spawn the thing into my single game?

4. Maybe there is a mod which can allow me to get one, if so can you tell me?

I mean this is a quest item if the Devs wanted to limit the amount of the Fusion Generators, that is fine. But why not have the quest giver give you the option to buy the items from him, even if it is double to price as the usual elusive venders.

The easiest legit way would be to find a research station in some faction territory in the iron tier areas, then just attack it and take the cargo, unbrand the item you need and go from there. Most research stations have them in stock, but only buy from you, they won’t sell it.

Otherwise there’s a dev mode menu code you can type in, you’d have to look it up, that would let you spawn it. Search google for a debug menu or dev mode menu.

Well I did find something , that works for me I found a mod called "Laserzwei's Admin Toolbox" and simply spawned in a Fusion Generator Factory and bought the dam things.

Yeah, I know how annoying it can be. Last time I had that issue was with Power Units for making energy turrets. I had six whole factions mapped out I felt like and yet not one factory fo rthe things, not one turret factory sold them (before suppliers were a thing) and I couldn't find a trading post that sold them, just ones that buy them (before that was made to be both ways). Ended up finding one small factory in the early Iron area, but it had none in stock and no supplies to make them. Literally had to go buy all the materials and wait while it made them 2 at a time when I needed like 600. It was rough.

Well after another 25-30 hours I did find a place selling them. go figure... but still over 45 hours of playing game, but always on the lookout for one specific item was frustrating.

As alternate solutions:

#1
If you set up an Accelerator Factory or a Research Station the gane AI will eventually deliver them to your station, and you can take what you need.

#2
Kill or board an AI Research Facility or their Accel Factory, there is a good chance you may receive them as a random drop.
However: if playing on a multiplayer server, check the rules on killing AI structures.
