Name change

Hi,I have changed one of my miners to a front-line carrier and want to rename it but I get a message I must collect its yield first?What is this?,the cargo is empty.thanks

Do you have a 'take' button available for the ship in the fleet menu (tab on 'P')? It sounds like the ship may have sent resources in an earlier map mission; that's what the "yield" usually refers to.

As for why: in its guts, the game identifies ship database entries used for background simulation through a combination of player/faction ID and name, so pending background stuff would get all messed up if the name changed before it was resolved.
