XSTN-II (research artifact) Questions

Hello, I am reading in the wiki that a maximum of 1 out of the modules needed (for researching XSTN-II) can be a duplicate XSTN artifact. Thus meaning you have to farm/research legendary systems.
1. Is this factual? I remember in the past that you could use as many duplicate XSTN artifacts that you wanted to research XSTN-II.
2. If the wiki is correct, what methods would you guys recommend to farm legendary system upgrades.

I know that you can't use all XSTN artifacts. I haven't tried using even one anymore after losing them trying 3. I generally buy every single upgrade from equipment docks every time I visit one, so my purples slowly build up.

1 of the 3 can be XSTN. Also legendary turrets don't count, have to be modules.

I just buy random upgrades I can find and shove them into the research lab for the legendary upgrade. bit tedious but it works

Never used an XSTN artifact to research XSTN-II.
Oh there was one time,
didn't work.
Just use the mundane legendaries.
Stop wasting mission upgrades and unique system drops too.

Could it be that the items you collected are only in alliance storage and you use alliance ships? Maybe that quest is only tracking the player inventory.

What do you mean by xsotan version? Next time please keep track of the names of all items you transmute with and the outcome.

Yeah, I've never failed to get the research artifact as long as I researched 3 normal legendaries. 100% success rate.

Yeah, any 3 of those should make the artifact.
