スムーズに日本語チャット入力する方法ありませんか？

プライベートサーバー上で友人とオンラインプレイをしているのですが、
チャットバーを開いた状態（ENTER押下）では日本語入力が出来ないため不便しています。
（チャットバーを開いていない状態であれば、一応日本語入力が可能ですが、打っている最中に各種ショートカットキーが反応するので、様々なウィンドウ開いてえらいことになります・・・。）

公式としては日本語サポートしていないので、日本語特有の入力方法（直接入力ではない）を考慮して作られてはいないのだと思いますが、何か回避策や工夫出来る余地はないかなと思い、質問させて頂きました。

IMEの設定や、外部補助ツールの利用等なにか良いアイディアをお持ちの方がいらっしゃいましたら、是非ご助言お願い致しますm(_ _)m

I wrote a qestion in Japanese because only Japanese people have this problem, and I thought developer would not support this problem.

In summary,
・Can't input Japanese text when opening chat box.
・Can input Japanese text when closing chat box, but some shortcut keys react at the same time.
e.g. When I wanna input "いいね" (means good or nice, spelling 「I」 「I」 「N」 「E」 ）
「I」 : open inventory
「I」 : close inventory
「N」 : default none
「E」 : ship rise
・I'm thinking about developer wouldn't tackle this problem because this game doesn't support Japanese officially.
・Do you (for Japanese players) have any good ideas?
