Way to set waypoints in Sectors?
Is there a way to set a waypoint in a sector?

I need a way to mark a wrecked ship, because I plan on building a salvaging ship to get it later, but I'm not sure if the ability to set a marker inside of a sector even exists.

Would be really strange if there is not )) Ships traversing universe cant autodock or mark location in the on-board computer, something which is already possible since 20 century?

I like concept of this game but it really lacks a lot of content at this stage. I hope they will meet all these ends finally.

Closest thing you could do that I can think of is create a ship to serve as a beacon and drop it by the location. It'll mark the sector it is in on the galaxy map, and (hopefully) dutifully sit there as a point of reference on your HUD.

The most you can do now is go into the map, right click on the sector and add a note. Then you will see three or four horizontal lines on the lower right corner of the sector.

Yes, right-click on your current sector and add note.

If you'd like to add a note to an unexplored sector, first right-click, select "Remember coordinates", then right-click again and then you can add note. That's super practical for remembering where hidden signatures are, so you can hyperspace into them, from further away, later.

On a sidenote, it would of course be nice, if the game could just automatically do what I just described, i.e. remembering hidden sectors once they've been scanned.

Another option is to return to the sector, and instead of scanning with MK-1 Eyeballs, enter drone mode and command your salvage ship to salvage. It will be a good bloodhound and sniff out the wreckages that you didn't even know were there. But the A.I. is still a little wonky, so you'll have to take control to do the actual salvage op.

Right now that is the best option for this use case. In future there will be beacons you can drop to remember places or notify other players.
