How does Turret crafting work?

So I just finished making my ship out of Naonite and now i'm looking into weapons (Takes forever to kill anything unless i use my power and use the two Laser weapons i got) and i heard that turret crafting makes life alot easier.

The best weapons (in my experience) can be obtained from Turret Factories.
Type "Turret Factory" in the searchbar on the galaxy map.
Fly to every Turret Factory to see what weapons they got in store for you.
Because every Turret Factory is different.
This way i found weapons that i used in the Naonite section all the way to killing the final boss.

Basically, each turret factory you find has a different "roll" for each turret type. Meaning each type they can build comes with a different set of base stats and modifiers. Then you simply collect the cargo needed to build it and go to the factory you wish to obtain the turret from. Select the rarity, generally just go for the best, and then increase the stats by adding extra units of specific cargo to increase a stat. More warheads in a cannon would increase damage for instance. Then you build it. These turrets will likely be significantly stronger than anything you've gotten in drops. Factory built salvage or mining lasers will offer better efficiency, increasing the mineral yield of harvested sources, weapons will offer higher DPS than usual and you can avoid getting turrets that overheat in 1 second or less... They're just better.

Yeah. Works very well for finding things quickly. I forget if placing notes on the map can also pop up when searched, but that can add more complexity.
