You can also use AI controlled ships to mine/salvage for you while you go explore other sectors. You can use AI controlled ships to fight enemies but the AI isn't all that great (yet).
Just a clarification for the OP, this only works with stations that are within the same sector.
Is there a way to automate contrution of ships/fleets?
Is there a way to automate trade?
Is there a way to automate telling ships to explore unknown sectors?
Sorry I ask about all this I'm really into automating systems example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-kcnItjkkQ&t=1s Do note that is a out dated video at this point. Pretty much in short what I would like to do if I were to automate in the game is to make a self expand fleet that would progressively eat everything on the map and grow exponentially. This in turn would overcome any tech level just due to shere numbers XD. Like a army of ants sworming over the galaxy in their creators name.
You'll probably like the next update (currently on the beta branch)
https://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/board,2.0.html
It adds the ability to give orders to your ships remotely and have them travel around and automatically buy or sell goods or mine.
The only thing i would say that is "automated" is some turrets have an autofire function that allows them to target and shoot at enemy targets.
You can have one station you own move goods to another station you own with cargo fighters, in order to maintain a production chain... but thats about it.
If your looking for a completely fire and forget AI script within Avorion, you won't find it... the dev's are not there yet with their A.I.
Avorion does not have the significant level of automation you are looking for is all I'm saying.
If you enjoy building vast automation factorios/armies/structures/etc, I wouldn't want you to be disappointed by the game when it doesn't meet those needs.
You might want to check out Satisfactory, by Coffee Stain Studios. It'll come out in the Epic Store, not sure about Steam.
So till Satisfactory decides to change their view on that I'm on strike against them. Which is such a bloody shame as I was really looking forward to it too. All well guess I'll be waiting for the next game while I keep playing along on factorio.
