Save location on a Mac? (Or just the save file extension would be good.)

I know the Windows save location is in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Avorion\galaxies. But where is it on a Mac? I tried looking in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Avorion (this was the only place on my computer I could find an Avorion folder), and it wasn't there. There is no galaxies folder in this Avorion folder at all.

If there are no Mac users who know, then maybe a Windows user could tell me the file extension for the save files and I can just do a search for that. Thanks!

This game really bogs down with explored sectors, building stations, and the like. Unplayable with lag and other weirdness (add shield to station, all kinds of not enough crew messages, population counts in jobs kept changing - and had different amounts on different screens ... I gave up).

Decided to move the save file. Couldn't find it. Tried cmd+shift+g to no avail. The file is where Iced Kirby stated. Once you get there, use cmd+shift+.

To hide the hidden folders again, use cmd+shift+. again.

I'm using a mac mini late 2014. It's fine for early game stuff. Lots of stations, or just 15+ pirate ships and a shipyard ... lag, choppy, bogged down. Try to send ships to places, sector not loaded, wait 10s or so and can issue commands. Really difficult when moving ships with multiple jumps and shift chained commands.

Use a PC if you want to do more than casual.
