face it then press interact key (F) then T for enter ship

if you are too far to go alongside. pull up the ship list and select the new ship; then press T to enter new ship.

How to open the ship list?

(i)nformation includes tabs for the ship list, turret and upgrade inventory, faction status, and a couple more. The ship list is the left-most tab.
