Adding on a little bit here, you need assembly blocks as mentioned in the post before this but you also need the materials to make the fighter (like naonite)
I do find it weird that they do not require much more than simple ore material to produce fighters, especially since you can slap a legendary turret on a fighter, turn it into a blue print and crank them out like crazy without the need for all those pesky turret parts. hehehe.
It would be a good idea to transfer a few of the end-result fighters to other ships that will be safeguarded so you can make blueprints again if the main carrier is lost in battle.
