Downloading Online Ship Models?

I have to say, I don't really like the building part. Is there a way I can just download some ship models and then import and then use according to the resources I have available?

randomly here on steam or on the main forums ppl upload the .xml file for their designs.

Its just finding the links.

ships are stored in /%appdata%/Avorion/Ships as XML-files

to import new ships you gotta download that file and move it into the Ships folder. These ships can be found in the official Avorion forum (there most users provide xml files when showing off).
