[Dedicated Server] Do your Captained AI Ships continue mining 'out of sector' or Offline?

Note: I know Single Player mode does not have this. I have done lots of searching and I see people guessing or making assumptions, but can't find a definitive answer.

I am just curious to hear a dev, or some a link to an article talking about the behavior today.

1) I created a dedicated server and then logged into it.

2) I created a little mining bot. Gave it a captain and crew, set it to mine and followed it around to make sure it was mining. It was, and I watched iron values increase.

3) I then left the sector and I no longer saw an increase in iron. I waited for some time.

4) I logged out and left the server running for an hour .. still no increase in iron.

Am I doing something worng, or does out of sector and offline actions not even happen yet?

not doing anything wrong sectors freeze after 5 minutes wiht no player in it. doesn't matter if you're running a hosted, dedi or local SP game.

Currently the only sectors that stay actively loaded in are the ones containing currently connected players - there are changes planned for this later, and though there is currently a mod which does light calculations for station production, it's a bit more complicated to try to do the same thing with ships.
