But it costs so much energy to use that I'm really not sure it's worth it. The +7 one wanted over 3 gigawatts of power.
Yeah you'll be stuck a low warp for a while. I'd say start heading for the center until you hit the blue ore. Then you should be able to boost it quite a bit.
Might want to keep an eye at equipment docks for upgrades.. but they ain't cheap.
Be sure you have either a titanium or naonite rated mining laser, or plenty of funds to purchase it from a resource depot.
Mine don't require that much power when they give that kind of boost, but even if they did, fixed power draws aren't that big a deal for an end-game ship. (the % drains are a bigger issue, really).
