I dont understand the purpose of these, can anyone ellaborate?

They're decorative and made out of iron no matter where in the galaxy you find them. You can salvage them like a wreck if you so chose, but as far as I can tell they don't actually contain any cargo loot. Then again, I stopped blowing them up after one or two, so feel free to do some science on them if you think there's a chance they contain goodies.

i blew up two rows..nothing....seems dumb and a waste of design space

There is a tiny chance of having a common equipment in one of those. Once i blew up some of them and got one mining laser. But keep in mind that this loot is them is so rare that not even one complete field could contain ONE equipment.

First i thought it's a decoration or a troll in-game, but after i found one equipment, i found out that it is not.

I believe in a future update they have plans to be able to harvest them for cargo, though it will likely be considered stealing. Gotta remember that things aren't finished yet =D

they don't have any higher drop rate on stuff than usual wreckage. you're much better off just salvaging dead pirates.

My understanding on these locations is that they are a placeholder for something coming in the future.

One or two of them can be opened if you are targeting it and very close to it. If you have the detector upgrade it says there is something valuable in this sector and if you have a rare or better one it will automatically highlight which one you can open once you're in detection range (based on your upgrades rng)
