How do I get a laser tower?

I bought the game, went through all the tutorials, and started the suggested Open Sandbox 'The Wayward Scion' gamestart. I haven't gone very far so far, but it's already wanting me to deploy laser towers? How do I even do that?

Land in a wharf or maintenance dock, go to the repair/resupply menu and buy them.

To deploy them you want to call the ship menu (press enter when flying), deploy, military, laser tower.

They are ship equipment to be purchased on shipyards, warfs and maintenance docks. Just ask any npc to guide you to the nearest shipyard if you don't know one already

Wharf's resupply s/m ships.

Shipyards supply L and XL ships.

Equipment docks supply all ships and are usually much cheaper than wharf's or shipyards.

Prices will vary based on how well supplied the station is.

Carriers and supply ships can produce even cheaper laser towers if you buy the blueprint and the supplies for the carrier/supply ship to build them.

Ships with a docking area can use mk2 laser towers which are much more powerful than mk1. So some M fighter ships and all L and XL ships.

All ships can pick up mk2 and mk1 laser towers but only ships with a docking area can redeploy them.

If you deactivate laser towers you can use the O key to suck them in with the loot magnet. You can mass select stuff by clicking and dragging the mouse over an area.

I still have no idea how I was supposed to just figure all that out on my own. I spent like an hour just flying around trying to figure out if it's sold as like a ship, a weapon, a ware ... Anyways, all set up, thanks fellas.
