Timelines character options

He really isn't. He's simply narked at the fools spreading their foolishness everywhere. You folks ruin everything these days, bleating abut DEI and woke this and now "being forcefed progressismus" as if there's some deep conspiracy happening when in fact it's probably plain ol economic/time factors at play here, as with most Egosoft products.

right? I usually play Teladi whenever possible since X2. only Argon and not even all shapes and forms is boring af. however, it's not gamebreaking but the expansion so far isn't good either. it all fits somehow.

I remember back in the day when the core experience of an RPG was throwing yourself into the shoes of someone who isn't a carbon copy of yourself in real life and it led to some amazing experiences.

One one hand it'd been nice to have a broader range of characters to pick from, on the other... I simply don't care enough to complain about it. The storyline is interesting and that's all I care about.

I didn't finish the missions yet, but being Argon is probably due to a story reason.

No, you can choose male or female at the start. It's the only option.
I'd rather prefer it if it was bald vs non-bald. I'd choose the non-bald.

Misinterpreted a comment to fit your own warped worldview? Yep, we saw.

Representation will continue to be "necessary" right up until the point you lot stop complaining about it and trying to force it back into the All White Male All The Time model you want. Once it's accepted as part of the world we live in, it stops being "necessary" and just becomes a fact of life.

If you're that insecure that a simple pair of harmless options in a videogame can bring you to a forum to raise complaints and conspiracy theories, the problem is pebkac not game-related.

I think there is something I didn't see. When I started timelines I just started with the black dude and that was it. Is there a sandbox start as well maybe?

Once it's accepted as part of the world we live in, it stops being "necessary" and just becomes a fact of life.

First of all: we dont live in the same world, when it comes to this. (Europe is not the US, and the US is not Asia etc...)

2nd. Egosoft offering choice, but deliberately keeping out two races (its not even the "white ones" that dont get a character) is just wrong - that is not "inclusive"...

So, asians dont exist?
and the entirety of latin america is a hoax, yes?

This thread would not exist, if they had offered the other choices too.

The "aliens" missing I also dont get, unless the main character is voiced.

Okay..let's bring the discussion back on track; no need for a right vs left thread.

It would be cool to have multiple choices of characters when starting a new game. Not just 2 . Not just humanoids seeing how many alien races are in this game. I think that is a good compromise.

But that is inevitable. They just can't cram every different human type on a story. It's only two choices, I found it odd that it follows the "woke pattern" of a black man and a white woman, but asking them to include more isn't really reasonable, wasted resources and voice actors and whatever. And as I said to the people who complained of not being able to choose an alien, I think there's a story reason for that.
