Make sure you change BOTH if you want them both to change.
I'm not sure why the launcher would be sticking its settings. Some kind of permissions problem with the configuration file, perhaps? Have you tried running it as administrator?
And just to double check you're in the right settings on the launcher, here's an image[i.imgur.com] to help guide you. Feel free to disregard this if that's already what you've been doing.
Unless I missed it somewhere, I did not find any settings in UnX to change text settings (only audio). I have to latest version from the link in my original post.
I did try running as an admin, no luck either and I can confirm I was attempting to change the settings like the picture you linked me,
Going to try and install the game on a different drive just in case.
No idea why it's not sticking. Perhaps a different drive may be needed.
Also side note, the UnX on the Steam page is outdated. You should get UnX from the UnX wiki directly. IIRC the Steam one does not include the 4GB virtual RAM patch that prevents green screen cutscenes.
frametimes were bad and i though that would fix it and it did.
I kind of just stumbled upon most of the fixes you used because I noticed the presentation method was causing issues so I used special K. Not sure if UNX is even different but with special k injected you should be able to press ctrl - shift - backspace and the overlay will have a language tab that basically forces the language. Still have to restart though.
