Thanks for the SKIM64 tip, as manually extracting files wasn't doing anything. Now it displays the "mod active" message and I can change the game's languages through one of the files, however the basic settings DisableDPIScaling, EnableFullscreen, BackgroundMute, and especially the stutter reduce don't seem to work.

Such a damn shame, I was really looking forward to play this game again... I guess I'll just refund it and try to emulate a ps2 iso.

Not a problem. That is a shame. I can't remember all the caveats of configuring the config files (some settings conflict with others or just cause general instability/issues as I recall, specifically with turning on fullscreen mode and enabling flip mode) and with Kaldaien seemingly abandoning his mod & support suddenly I don't know if anyone else can help short of just turning things off and on again until you get it working how you want.

As someone who also emulated the game on PCSX2 let me warn you fiddling with emulation settings is also a pain in the♥♥♥♥♥ And even then, you get some very interesting glitches sometimes. Either way, good luck. :)

So for anyone else looking to install this, I've found SKIM64 at the following link:

https://github.com/Kaldaien/TSF/releases/tag/tsfix_0105

Just download and run it, and select Untitled Project X from the drop-down menu.
Config seems to be through various ini files starting with UnX - there's also "default_UnX" which I'm guessing you shouldn't/don't need to edit.

Haven't tried it out much though, and I don't know what all the options in the config files actually do, what the keyboard/gamepad shortcuts are, or anything else about how to make it work.

Also, I want to ask: Is the EntirePartyEarnsAP option balanced (ie you aren't actually gaining AP faster than you would in the normal game)? What do people who've tried it think of it?

I used it 'til the calm lands on a second playthrough because I felt the mechanic of just switching everyone in to defend once pretty tedious, and I can say it does actually sort of ruin the end game a little bit if/when you want to max people's grids. Unless you are farming red spheres a lot and keeping everyone in balance with each other, you're going to end up with some people with 99 sphere levels and no way of using them due to lack of red spheres. I ended up turning it off and just focusing on the people I like using most (Tidus, Rikku, Wakka, Yuna).

It sort of also defeats the purpose of getting the Triple Overdrive, Triple AP and Overdrive to AP weapons for people a bit as well I think. So you have to decide if you're into the end game grinding or not to decide if you want it or not.

ITS ALL OVER NOW!
Who was attacking the author? And since when was FFXV on Steam? Calm down and grow up.
If I understood it right, Kaldaien gave up on PC gaming (and so, he's done with the development of his mods) because of the toxic community, the Tales of Berseria community hub was pretty much the last straw I guess...

I don't know the guy or really care, but I liked his mod for FFX. If he had issues with idiots being idiots on the internet, then he should simply not interact with them. To cut off his support for all mods because some people for another game were being mean is pretty childish and sad, but what can you do, it was a mod he offered for free and he had no obligation to provide us with anything. RIP UnX then, and I hope Kaldaien returns with thicker skin or just simply ignores people who are being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s in the future.

Silly, silly e-drama that really didn't need to happen.

If I'm not mistaken, the main reason he was even doing the mods was for learning purposes and curiosity, I guess it got to the point where it became more annoying than fun?
It's a pitty that this is how it ends (assuming he won't come back), but he was doing this on his free time after all.

My god. I max Tidus from Yuna's sphere grid. Did this mod gave me Expert board? Because I chose standard. What a mess.

The only thing this mod will do with the Sphere Grid is possibly replace the textures (if you've gotten a texture replacement, because that isn't standard). That sounds like to me you've messed around with Farplane and/or FFXED.

Bloody modders, always with the drama. Why can't they just release a really useful mod and let it stand on its own merits? Why engage with trolls?

Hey all, I use a steam controller and it seems to need some sort of set up to work with project X. I know the author is gone but thought someone maybe able to give me tips. It worked fine without the mod so if there was a way to just turn off the gamepad controll part of the mod that would be great. I looked through the install guide but did not see that or over looked it.
