That is correct. FFX is the pinacle of turn-based Final Fantasy games, and FFX-2 is, well I don't really know what it is other than terrible :) It's in no way what you would expect from a sequel to such a good turn-based game.
If you want a turn-based Final Fantasy game, FFX is the last of the lot. So take that into consideration when discussing FF 12 or newer. The story between installments is always completely isolated, but the defining characteristic used to be turn-based gameplay.
and yes , its defenitely Worth it , final Fantasy X is my third most Favorite Game of all Time (i would give it a 98 / 100 score ( the other two are oot with 100 / 100 and TTYD with 99 / 100 btw))
it has AMAZING Soundtracks like to Zanarkand and many many others , and its Graphics also are quite good
and the best thing about the Game is its skill Tree , its a Giant Board that has 2 Version with 1 having rather linear Paths so you dont accidently give a character "wrong" abilities while in the 2nd version all start almost at the same point abd its up to you where you want to go ( like you can always decide to give someone abilities of the Character thats closest to him on the Spheregrid ( a good example is teaching the White Mage some Black Mage Spells so she can also be used for playing aggressive
the Sphere Grid is by far the best Skilltree in my Opinion , even after atleast 30 Playthroughs on PS2 and already 2 on PC ( my old PC broke down thats why i dont have more yet ) theres still so much left i want to try out
and another awesome Thing in the game is its upgrading System , every Weapon and Armor that has 1 Blank ability space can be modified as long as you have enough Items to add a certain Stat / Ability
its even possible to craft weapons for Farming Sphere Level extremly fast
i dont know much of FFX-2 bc i got Stuck on the thunderplains on my PS2 File years ago , but its still a good game and FFX alone is already worth the Price
