It seems to be a side effect of that UnX mod. Turn off all 3rd party programs or close them (EVGA can be set, closed, and will still work).
You MUST access the game via the Steam Gui (go to Library and select play from there) to get Steam to monitor achievements AND to get the Steam FPS OSD in the corner. Considering the game runs at 30 FPS (it's forced) and even with 4k upscaling doesn't seem to go beyond 2.5gb~ VRAM, as long as your fan is set to come on, there's nothing really to monitor with this game.
IF you want EVGA to NOT crash the game, open EVGA and select OSD button. Then, open the EVGA server (it will open but remain minimized when "OSD" button on Px16 is selected. Check your tray or task manager. Anyway, with it open, you'll see a list of .exe files. Click "add". Then find FFX, FFX-2, and might as well select the FF Launcher. Add all 3, then restart the game. It shouldn't crash now.
It sounds very strange, but the sound effect always plays when the game crashes if you have the UnX mod installed ;)
He's not on drugs :P
That feature was something I added for my own benefit while coding the stuff, but I found the notion of threads like this so hilarious that I kept it. Sorry ;)
