I somehow lost the English audio for FFX
Was hoping someone could help me out. I am relatively new to PC gaming. Was trying to install the UNX mod to FFX last week. stopped half way through (no idea how far I got) just tied playing FFX and now the audio is only in Japanese every though the settings are set to English. Any idea or help fixing this would be great.

I tihnk you need to adjust the audio settings in the language.ini file that gets created when you load up the game for the first time using that mod. The audio needs to be changed from jp to us from what I've read.

Something along those lines anyway. I'm sure someone with more details will come along soon enough.

Yeh in the UNX_language configuration setting file. (that opens up as a word pad) i have the following:

[Language.Master]
SoundEffects=jp
Voice=jp
Video=jp

[FFX.exe]
Voice=
SoundEffects=
Video=

I wouldnt want to mess with something I do not understand and make it worse. If anyone can let me know where to go from here that would be great.

Set the settings to the following:

[Language.Master] SoundEffects=us Voice=us Video=us [FFX.exe] Voice= SoundEffects= Video=

You don't have to change stuff under [FFX.exe]. Just change the stuff under [Language.Master].

If you can't see what I did, I replaced anything that said "jp" with "us".

SoundEffects is for the grunts and stuff the characters do in battle.

Voice is just for the regular voiceovers in cutscenes and stuff.

Video is for the talking that takes place during FMV (Full Motion Video) cutscenes. You know, the ones that are animated really well.

What do you mean no idea how far you got? :)

Installation is as easy as unzipping the thing.

Read the manual in order to configure language.

Hahah, I wish I could relate. 3 AM is right around the time that I start coding at peak efficiency :) It's a good thing I'm self-employed because those aren't normal business hours :P
