As a mouse and keyboard, maybe. Try it and let us know.

seemed like a reasonable question to me. I want to use my Fire TV to stream my Steam game to, whether I use remotr or a steam client on the firetv, I still would like to know if I should buy a firetv controller or a steam controller and as such if a Steam controller will work with the FireTV.

I know I'm late to the party but I saw that steam controllers now have bluetooth support so this may be an option of doing it.

If someone can get the Steam Controller to pair with their Fire stick (and it may not be able to, depending on which revision of the stick is being used), then it will only work with the Steam Link App. It will not, definitely not, work as a game controller for any other purpose on the Fire stick.

However does it work? Thats important as this is the only reason why i would buy one

I managed to connect it to a Fire TV in the 'other devices' section. It even worked like a mouse in some games. Not all the buttons work though, so I need to figure out if there's a config that will make it work with games.

I doubt it will work with fire tv stick as a useable controller.

I haven't tried BLE mode on my android smart box , but i am pretty sure it will only work in lizard mode and the steam configs only apply to the streamed pc games.

To solve that problem valve would need to cover Direct-Input- output (which is still missing in the Desktop version i might add ) X-input output to cover android games that support those, and some other android proprietary drivers which might also exist.
And also adding those apps as non steam games into the link app would be required.

But i kinda understand that valve wants to sell their PC games and supporting android games with the link app is non profitable.
Maybe some third party app could fix that but that is quite a lot of work.

Mobile games are really messy when it comes conmtrollersupport.
No functional analog triggersupport, sometimes the right stick is ignored, and really weird controllersetups like pressing X or Y button to go into the menu. wtf??

I am like a spoiled child since i have the SC , and going back using twinsticks with no gyro , Trackpadaiming and dualstage triggers is really annoying.
Some mobile games are not that bad and playing them on the big screen is a new experience, but twinstick pads for mobile are really underwhelming.

Hey I managed to get it connected to the Tv however the only thing that works is the mouse. The firestick also detects it as a mouse
