Steam Controller

Steam Controller

use the controller and mouse at the same time?
So like I would love to be able to use my mouse at the same time as this controller. Not being funny but I would love to be able to use the controller for example "WSAD" and then the mouse for aim... Is there a way to do this? If not does anyone wanna buy a brand new steam controller lol

step 1. Set your left hand on your controller

step 2. Set your right hand on your mouse

step 3. You are now using both at the same time.

if it's that bad, tape the controller to your hand

You can, but why? The whole reason the trackpads exist is so that you don't need to do this.

example: trigger = jump(soft) duck(hard) hipfire relaxed, trackpad = touchmenu, grip = sprint, and joystick click = melee

really... im tyring this out with Fallout 4 but its not working. its full controller or keyboard n mouse...

BTW I have nerver used a controller ever. I got this becasue im starting to get pain in my keyboard hand when playing FPS games. I figured that I would get the controller to help with that.

Edit: just tested it again and it does not work.

that's 100% on bethesda. they absolutely only support 1 or the other, thats it.

I have a config published for it, use that. Gyro for shooting/aiming and high sensitivity trackpad, etc, pure keyboard/mouse settings.

ah well thats ♥♥♥♥. Lets how moders will fix that. I'll go pray to the modders XD
Do you need help setting up the controller to work as a replacement for KB/M or setting up to work as a 360 game pad? Even though I don't have fallout 4, I don't mind helping you out :)

Either way IMO the controller is better then either, But because of the massive amount of tweaking needed to get it to work properly, you may not like it. So its fine if you feel it doesn't fit you and you wish to return it. But I do recomend taking the time to try it out properly.

I dont mind working towards a work around. What do you have in mind?

Just turn off controller support within the game then change your Steam controller to emulate keyboard/mouse instead of emulating a controller. It's the exact series of steps you take for Fallout 3.

You shouldn't be using your Steam controller to emulate a 360 controller because in doing so you lose virtually every benefit that the Steam controller would otherwise bestow.

You won't see a mod that allows gamepad and mouse at the same time. That's harcoded into the game itself.

I use my SC in gamepad mode, except that I have the right trackpad as mouse joystick to replicate a trackball. Works beautifully. For games that have built-in gamepad support (Skyrim, New Vegas, FO4) it's just fine.

I've played plenty of games with a pro u controller

there are many benefits to joystick + mouse for sure so using the two together is far from crazytalk

now if only grifta was released so I could have a 1 handed controller

It's crazytalk for a controller that has trackpads specifically for handling mouse input.

Sounds like you want a Razer keypad rather than Steam controller...

So when I turn off controller support. what do I need to have so I can map keys to the controller?
