step 2. Set your right hand on your mouse
step 3. You are now using both at the same time.
if it's that bad, tape the controller to your hand
You can, but why? The whole reason the trackpads exist is so that you don't need to do this.
BTW I have nerver used a controller ever. I got this becasue im starting to get pain in my keyboard hand when playing FPS games. I figured that I would get the controller to help with that.
Edit: just tested it again and it does not work.
I have a config published for it, use that. Gyro for shooting/aiming and high sensitivity trackpad, etc, pure keyboard/mouse settings.
Either way IMO the controller is better then either, But because of the massive amount of tweaking needed to get it to work properly, you may not like it. So its fine if you feel it doesn't fit you and you wish to return it. But I do recomend taking the time to try it out properly.
I dont mind working towards a work around. What do you have in mind?
You shouldn't be using your Steam controller to emulate a 360 controller because in doing so you lose virtually every benefit that the Steam controller would otherwise bestow.
I use my SC in gamepad mode, except that I have the right trackpad as mouse joystick to replicate a trackball. Works beautifully. For games that have built-in gamepad support (Skyrim, New Vegas, FO4) it's just fine.
there are many benefits to joystick + mouse for sure so using the two together is far from crazytalk
now if only grifta was released so I could have a 1 handed controller
It's crazytalk for a controller that has trackpads specifically for handling mouse input.
you may be right lol
So when I turn off controller support. what do I need to have so I can map keys to the controller?
