60 FPS is only the tip of the iceberg, actually.
They will continue to need a framerate limiter because some people run monitors with refresh rates > 60 Hz. Their framerate limiter will continue to be broken because, this is Namco.
I hope they learn what mipmaps are and not to compress gradient textures using DXT1, but you never know :-\ I get the impression they don't much care about the image quality of their games. It's not a selling point of the games, but still, you don't have to go out of your way to lower it :P
when will we? please tell me soon?
LOL This dude has no idea what he's talking about. There's no working PS3 emulator that would play a Tales game, much less ANY game. You can play Tales of the Abyss on a PS2 emulator, however.
As I said, there is no working PS3 emulator. Even with the best computer in the world, nothing is even remotely playable with RPCS3. It's listed as an "early work-in-progress" and for someone to think you could run a Tales game with it right now is laughable.
LOL OK they got one fricking dance game running. Still stand by my initial rebuke of the dude saying you can play Tales on a PS3 emulator.
So you've played Tales Of Xillia (flawlessly! and oh so playable without a super computer) on RPCS3? Yeah, didn't think so... which was my original point, to save someone the trouble of downloading the emu and game and wasting their time trying to get it to work because of some uninformed steam comment. The vast majority of games are nowhere near playable, and 10 FPS is NOT playable, so we are years away from that. I follow emulators very closely and have used almost every one ever made, even the FM Towns and MSX emulators.
Tales of Vesperia does. And it doesn't have x2 speed.
i usually avoid emulation like the plague.
Uh? What?! Literally, Graces F runs 100% fine on emulator. Same with Xillia and Xillia 2. O.o
In fact, Dawn of the new world also functions extremely well, along with Symphonia Chronicals on Emulator being the only possible way to achieve 60 FPS on Symphonia (PC/PS3) without the game breaking. (I believe the same for Dawn of the new world as well)
In addition to that, these games run so well on RPCS3 now. I use them with people on Parsec to have a full party on 4-players on them. (I don't recommend this with Xillia cause its not designed for it.)

At this point, the PS3 console far outperforms any emulator. Emulation is at the PS2 level right now in terms of flawless execution. PS3 emulators can run some games at 20 FPS. Yay...
