I don't think so.

I got the last big game, Valhalla, to run nicely on my Deck and Mirage ran great. I suspect it will be "Playable" like most if not all AC games to date.

But it would be nice to get a definitive word on that.
I wouldn't count on it. Their official system specs are stated with Dynamic Resolution and Upscaling turned on, it's not even optional anymore. If it does run on the Deck, it will run poorly. If SteamDeck is important or your only option, then I would wait until launch to see how things turn out.

Probably run at 20 fps and look like a blurry mess :sakurabeachmomokolaugh:
Just saw this post on facebook about steam deck compatibility: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=943697821279243&set=a.393751746273856 from the ones that came before. Dont know the guy but looks legit.

If all you have is a steam deck & your primary gaming experience is something like the Nintendo switch or emulation than I dare say you’d find 720p 25~30FPS ultra performance FSR as playable.

This game has similar requirements to FF7 Rebirth & Black Myth Wukong. I’ve tested both of those games on my Legion Go & Rog Ally (both Z1E). If it’s anything like those games; I expect my Legion Go to be able to do 800p (high settings locked 30FPS or unstable 40FPS range), 1200p (low-med settings mostly 30FPS locked).

On Rog Ally, FF7 rebirth runs around 28~44 FPS 1080p 66% scaling at 30w turbo mode.

So until Shadows release and I know for sure, I’d say steam deck will struggle even at 30fps. One of the game directors even specifically answered the game ‘at launch’ is not compatible for the game (I read that as it’ll likely not even perform 30FPS)

Anyone able to get HDR on steamdeck oled? I can turn it on in game options but everything becomes washed out. Also don't get HDR badge.

How many days did that take you? You can only try 5 versions of Proton every 24 hours. If you found the one version of Proton that worked in fewer than 5 tries, that's impressive.

Worked out of the box for me with no tinkering, all of my hours at far are on my deck.

Did the game just not boot for you before?

I am also playing it just fine, I understand it would be a better experience on a desktop pc with a nice gpu but all I have for now is the deck. This runs at mostly 30fps and is a lot of fun. Like a camera, the best computer is the one you have with you…
I played it on Steam Deck for a while last week when I was traveling and it played just fine. It's a small screen for such a beautiful game so it's not ideal, but it plays great on it.

Yes, just crashes on start.

I took a peak at protondb and noticed most of the issues people were having were from people using Nvidia instead of amd gpus. A few people with AMD gpus have said they needed to use GE-Proton, so if you haven't installed that then that's worth a shot.
