Fuse
Is there any fuse that prevent batteries to be discharged? Not very happy to see my entire energy reserve depleted from an accident even with something like 10 fuses on the network (and I got the message they worked).

Even the fuse mod, don't remember the exact name doesn't prevent it completely. There is another mod called ED ENHANCEMENTS I think it's called that will allow you to disable them completely. When I get on my PC I'll look it up in a lil while.

Yeah thanks! Although I can probably insulate some parts with switches and activate manually, but it is micro managing for the sake of micro managing

I never use the option, but the above should allow you to supress "zzzts".

Are you using this mod

It doesn't stop "zzzts" completely, but it drastically reduces them. You need to pay attention to how much energy each fuse/breaker attenuates. If you're using more power than all of them can handle then you're much more likely to have an outage.

I generally put 2 or 3 more down than what I really need. Also I don't rely on batteries much at all anymore. Rarely, if ever, do I lose power to such a point that a battery would do any good. If I'm being attacked and I lose power, I"m most likely going to lose the game.

Thanks. I have RT Fuse, but it don't prevent drainage. Oh well, back to switches.

Although, look :)

It does prevent damage if you have enough of them, I’m using it currently. Place more fuses down

Fuses block upto 3000 power during the Zzzt event.
So if you have 4 batteries, you need 2 fuses.

Just so that everything is clear, I'm not talking of preventing damages with fuse. I expect that to work correctly, provided you have enough fuse for your network.

I'm speaking of a kind of fuse preventing the network from being drained of its energy... So far I see no mod doing that.

It's part of the event's code, so I don't think you can disable it.

One of the mods I linked prevents the event outright so no more drains.

In all honesty, I'm not really sure why you feel you need mods for this?

First off, the drain event is generally inconsequential, since you should almost always have more power being produced than consumed; in that case, your devices will be offline for a few seconds at most.

Second, even in the event that you have a bigger problem, like, say, a power short followed by a generator going offline, the much easier solution is to just have one or two batteries fully-charged on backup. If the batteries are uninstalled, they don't discharge, and they also don't drain from the short. Just install the battery and boom - your devices are back online.

Having emergency generators can stop this from being an issue. Regardless of my base size, I try to keep to 2-4 batteries. Also, with more batteries, when you DO have a blowout, the more stored energy the worse the explosion. Just takes a little management.

Another thing you can do if you want is to set up a solar panel dedicated to charging the backup batteries (as well as some switches to swap what is the backup and what is connected to the main grid) this offets the self-discharge and more importantly gives a different power grid that you don't care about the zzzt event happenng to.
(oh no the back-ups were dschared and they will have to spend some time recharging like they were already)
