I never use the option, but the above should allow you to supress "zzzts".
Are you using this mod

It doesn't stop "zzzts" completely, but it drastically reduces them. You need to pay attention to how much energy each fuse/breaker attenuates. If you're using more power than all of them can handle then you're much more likely to have an outage.
I generally put 2 or 3 more down than what I really need. Also I don't rely on batteries much at all anymore. Rarely, if ever, do I lose power to such a point that a battery would do any good. If I'm being attacked and I lose power, I"m most likely going to lose the game.
Although, look :)

So if you have 4 batteries, you need 2 fuses.
I'm speaking of a kind of fuse preventing the network from being drained of its energy... So far I see no mod doing that.
First off, the drain event is generally inconsequential, since you should almost always have more power being produced than consumed; in that case, your devices will be offline for a few seconds at most.
Second, even in the event that you have a bigger problem, like, say, a power short followed by a generator going offline, the much easier solution is to just have one or two batteries fully-charged on backup. If the batteries are uninstalled, they don't discharge, and they also don't drain from the short. Just install the battery and boom - your devices are back online.
(oh no the back-ups were dschared and they will have to spend some time recharging like they were already)
