HAVING A PROBLEM RUNNING THE GAME? TRY THESE FIRST:

Discord

If you use Discord, you can join our official server[discord.gg] and ask in the #support channel if you have problems.

1. Restart Steam. This is enough to fix most problems.
2. Delete config.dat in game's installation folder.
3. Disable anti-virus.
4. Verify the integrity of your files.
5. Restart your PC.
6. Update your drivers. A video card or audio driver has occasionally caused problems.

I haven't played the game since 2023, and it's now crashing on startup.

Check your "save" folder in installation location. Does it have a subfolder with a name made of numbers? And does that folder have a profile0.ojs file?

If not, you've missed the transition to new save system. The game converts your old save, however many old saves had accumulated some degree of corruption over the years and the conversion doesn't work. You can email your user.dat to [e-mail] (or join our discord and DM it to one of the devs) and we'll see what can be done with it.

Save Issues (NOTE: ALWAYS DISABLE STEAM CLOUD BEFORE RESTORING ANY SAVE BACKUPS)

Problem: Game is crashing after initial game logos, before I reach main menu.
Solution: Your save data is probably corrupted. But no worries, there's a backup of the last working save in your game's installation folder:

• Disable Steam Cloud
  
• Navigate to your game installation folder, and backup the "save" folder.
  
• Navigate to the following folder depending on your OS:
  Windows: %APPDATA%/FBF/100OrangeJuice
  Linux: ~/.local/share/FBF/100OrangeJuice
  macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/FBF/100OrangeJuice
  
• If you are using the save slot 1 in-game, go to "save\backup\profile0" folder, otherwise the other folders.
  
• Copy the latest .ojs file that has the expected file size, and copy it to your game folder's "save" folder, and the subfolder with many numbers (this corresponds to your Steam user ID).
  
• Delete "profile0.ojs" (in case of Save 1), and rename the copied .ojs file into "profile0.ojs".

This should load a working save from your last successful session again.

Problem: All my saved user profiles are gone after something happened!

Problem: Game crashes on startup with "failed to initialize driver" error.
Solution: This one is audio related - if you're using headphones but they're not plugged in, plugging them in may fix it.

Problem: Online game is stuck without CPU taking over an apparently timed-out player.
Solution: The game is out of sync. Ask other players to confirm whose turn it is. The one who sees a different situation is the one out of sync, and they need to leave and try to re-join to fix the situation.


Other tips:
- If you have some graphic issues, and have both a dedicated and integrated graphics card, try switching the game to the other graphics card.

An issue immediately started annoying me a lot while playing Bounty Hunters tonight. If my cursor is overlapping a bag icon (usually P3's or P4's) while also clicking another button in a menu, it'll pop up that player's inventory window, obstructing most of the screen on me.

Now granted, most of the time, this is only a problem with the 800x600 resolution I'm playing at. However, it can also happen while fishing too:

There's no reason the invisible bag icon should've been clickable while fishing there. This needs to be fixed so that an inventory window can't accidentally be opened while clicking on another button, and especially not while fishing, which was very distruptive to me.

Kiriko's hyper doesn't seem to target Harbingers (Lost Rogue), even though Dinner works on him...

All Invaders (including Harbinger) cannot be damaged or KO'd outside battle;
this is also written on the the unit-card of Harbinger also.

So not a bug and works as meant to.

Bug Report.

In the ONLINE mode LOBBY screen, the stages from "Circus" to "Ocean Dive" cannot be selected. The stage to the left of "Random" is "Santa's Workshop".

When selecting "Circus" in the room creation screen, "Circus" is also selected in the LOBBY screen, but when moving the stage selection to the left, the place where "Ocean Dive" should be is somehow "Random".

Please fix this issue.

不具合報告です。
ONLINEモードのLOBBY画面で、「サーカス」～「オーシャンダイブ」までのステージを選択することができません。
「ランダム」の左隣が「サンタのワークショップ」になっています。

ルーム作成画面で「サーカス」を選択するとLOBBY画面でも「サーカス」が選択されている状態となりますが、左にステージ選択していくと「オーシャンダイブ」のあるはずの場所がなぜか「ランダム」になっています。

修正をお願いします。

I know this is very vague and probably unhelpful but the game frequently crashes when a match starts. Not sure if it's bounty hunters exclusive, haven't played normal since I'm focusing on the event, but it started happening with this patch.

Edit: could be a coincidence but it seems to happen after playing one game, it'll always crash on the 2nd. I saw the turn event popup say "None" after which it instantly crashes

Something I noticed only when I started working on updating the translation patch is that text changes in patch 3.21.2 either weren't implemented or got accidentally reverted. The entry for the Flying Castle's co-op version is missing.

In bounty hunter mode, when buying both pastry and gelato in the same turn from the same store, neither takes effect. I also bought a chocolate later and it also had no effect in addition to the previous two. Fighting several battles doesn't cause them to go away in 2 uses like their description says.

They changed how some of the shop items worked with this Bounty Hunt update. For those items, you have to click on the little bag icon on the edge of your player HUD in the corner to open your intentory, then click on the items to use them there, as those aren't immediate effect items, but rather things you store to use later.

Yes, I can see how that can be confusing for those used to how the items usually work, especially since it can also be easy to forget you're holding those items after you've bought them, since they go into your inventory that's not visible unless you click on the bag icon.

Doesn't their description say that they're passive and affect the next two battles? Being able to choose when to use them isn't very "bounty hunter mode full of misfiring massive bonuses and shields on chickens" at all!

I lost my save, I did the steps mentioned to do it however... For some reason I don't have ''user.dat'' nor ''user_FBF_????_backup.pak''

Furthermore, I don't have any directory that takes Fruitbat Factory/100% orange juice...

So...did I just lose everything? Is there anything I can do to recover?

The save location changed a few updates ago (this post needs an update too)

First check that you have a "save" folder in your game folder. Within it should be another folder named after your steam ID.
If you do, then your backups should be stored here:
C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\FBF\100OrangeJuice\save\backup

Every profile is separated in different folders. Pick the most recent one (or if it doesn't work, an earlier backup) from each profile folders, then paste them in the "save" folder. Make sure to rename the files like so: profile0.ojs, profile1.ojs, profile2.ojs.

Try to run the game afterwards.

Let us know if you do not have a "save" folder or any backups.
