First contact mod + Vanilla

Hello,

Next week on Tuesday April 4th I am planning a 12 hour PvE for 3 people to play using all and only custom races for players and AI, and we plan to "Role Play" and dress up like aliens and ♥♥♥♥. It is gonna be fun. We are all ensuring to never run the First Contact mod until we launch the game so we experience everything fresh together and only play in slow mode so we can "Role Play" for the whole time

BUT I wanted to know if this would be stable? I know to save game at least every hour because I have been playing for years and experienced the corruption that can occur in game and even spoil a saved game file to make it unusable.

We actually did this back in I think 2019 or 2020 can't remember, but that time it was actually a 24 hour game and stream!!!! It was fun and one of the most epic gaming experiences of my life. We felt like we won even though the game only ended because of save file corruption because forgot to save often enough....... But we thought we won not because the game ♥♥♥♥ the bed, we thought we won because we had so much fun and had some amazing battles that we won and achieved our goal!!!


We want to use only minimal mods.... But I am browsing the mod shop to see if there is anything that is either a must have mods like for quality of life and possibly if there is something very cool might include.

Any mod suggestions for quality of life or other new interesting irresistible that would add to our slow paced chilled out Stellaris game,








(I even used to write mods for the I think 3.1 "♥♥♥♥" [as in Phillip K ♥♥♥♥!!!) version of the game, I tried to make a battle Royal style game mode.

Well, not really no, i'm amazed you're willing to play under such conditions, i play my multiplayer sessions on the standard speed, and 12 hours is... brain rot.
I'll presume you're not interested in me inviting you to anything also
As for help with mods... i wish you the best of luck in testing them, as such information is pretty sparse

Yes please invite me, and if you read on you will see why, but also you made me realize I actually meant normal. I don't think I could commit to big long games for a while because things are happening in life.

Also I wrote some cool mods for the game and really really enjoyed doing it! It was so fun, did a bunch of crazy ♥♥♥♥ like trying to make a battle royale universe where every once in a while stars blow up and the rate they blow increases as the game progresses. I'm a professional software developer and I think the mod language for this game is pretty cool, very interesting, even elegant in so many ways. I have my code on github somewhere, I'll link ya. I never finished what I wanted to but it was so fun, and I may yet again work on stuff.

I have decided to cancel the event, and I will tell you why we were going to keep it on slow. (BTW, you made me realize I meant normal)

My buddy has a brain injury. He gets overwhelmed with the event stream at higher speeds, unless it is late game when things slow down. He has not been well, and so I was trying to have this event to cheer him up and remind him of how fun it was when we did a 24 hour game. When we did the 24 hour game we never took longer then 10 minute breaks too. He was in better shape then but still had to manage the pace. This is also part of why I only wanted the new DLC only to tone it down, and also enjoy the new story.

I need to play a bit to warm up myself, will do so soon!

OH by the way, I think I did mean standard speed, not "slow"! haahaha. I have over a thousand hours but have not played in a year so I'm a bit rusty.

If you are interested in a PvE long session game sometime in order to enjoy the adventures (I still need to go to fast sometimes, and of course late game fast = regular or whatever, sorry I have not played since last summer so my terminology is off.

But you are correct I meant Standard!!! HAHAH yeah slow would bug my buddy with the brain injury. He kind of has a sense of focus that everything must be responded to and doesn't want to miss anything.

When we would play the public PvP games back then he only played once or twice because he didn't get it that it is kind of a different game when you play that way.

If you are interested in participating in a single session firm commitment no backing out no quitting game sometime I would be down, and I would not include my buddy in this because he could not handle it. I might not be able to do something like that anytime soon, but maybe, and preferably a saturday or sunday........

So yeah, friend me up on steam and we can schedule a day.

The way we were going to play it was
#1 every human player must create their own custom empire
#2 NO built in empires allowed for AI empires (I have a large set of custom empires that are pretty fun, and there was a theme, so I was going to pull in my original set and make a bunch more)
#3 at start of game a player could veto the universe and we would roll again (but probably limit the number of times, so if it's the third new universe, and you don't like your starting location too bad......
#4 all human players must always keep borders open and never fight, sort of like an federation kind of deal
#5 if a player's empire starts to tank other players should try to help if possible
I can't remember the other things we agreed on. Anyhow I cancelled this one because too much going on.

Anyhow, if I were to do this with someone else I would not necessarily do all those rules.

I gotta go for now, but friend me up and we can coordinate some play. I have over a thousand hours in game, but have not played in a year so would probably need to do some warm ups first.

I used to stream Stellaris A TON a long time ago, but only so my other friend could watch, didn't care about buiilding a following. Now I do, and am still improving my page and adding stuff.

BTW if we play stellaris together sometime I should host because my machine is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MONSTER --- Might update my twitch with specs today, been meaning to a while but it is a top of the line build including a water cooled 4090 and bad ass kind of everything.

The only thing that bummed me out about my new machine is that it does not have enough high speed USB C/Thunderbolt 3 ports. So I bought a thunderbolt 4 card. When I re-arrange my streaming studio hopefully this weekend I'll install it

What time do you start & what is committment? If you have the info on a discord or a page I will check it out and get on your list because it is possible sometimes that i want a chill sunday
