Taming/riding flying creatures
I wish there was a way to tame/ride flying creatures (either beatles or the creatures you find in the sky). Here's how it could be implemented.

So once you tame the flying creature (in case of beatles when it is on ground, in case of flying creatures, a way to call them down would be needed - and it would also make scanning easy, but I digress), you could fly around on it if it's big enough on the planets, which would be very useful for exploration as you wouldn't have to waste ship fuel.

The way to control would be WSAD to move in the horizontal plane, jump to fly higher and run button to get lower. When no input is present, the creature will hover in place (basically, helicopter controls).

You will, however, only be able to fly so high, due to requirement of having air around you to fly. Basically, once you reach certain height above the ground, you will not be able to get any higher than that - the limit should be somewhat big, so you can fly above any generated mountains, but still there to prevent you from being able to go to space on the back of a flying fish.

This sounds fun, but it would have to be a bit more difficult to tame these creatures because they are so much better than land creatures. Maybe there would be a special type of creature pellets you feed them that takes a bit more materials to make.

hmm I own a flying creature...I tamed it for fun but it only flies close to the ground so followed it then threw food for it. has small wings and never flies higher than maybe 10-20 meters.

That's hovering creature. You can tame those. I was talking about taming ones that fly properly like beetles and those things you see in the sky.
