Base parts stuck into the ground
Hi.
I've build some stations that go underground. I used the corridors, these round base pods and of cause the quader rooms. And I built something big underground with wood.
Since two or three days every Base-Part I build, does not remove the ground over it. Landing platforms stuck in the ground and the wooden boards also do. Even when I try to install a quader room the earth inside will not be removed as before. I asked some friends and they confirmed the same problem. Well and it is impossible to remove the dirt, because the multi tool is disabled inside a base.
Sorry, if my english is not the best, so I try to explain it with some screenshots.

When you installed a wooden board, the earth above was removed up to one floor height.
So it was possible to build rooms underground.

Now all components you build stuck in the ground.

Even if you build something on the surface, it will stuck into the ground if its noch 100% flat.
Are we three persons the only ones with that problem?

Can you please fix this problem. Autoremoving the ground by building something worked great till recently.

Dirt, rocks, flora all come back if you remove them it seems. If you build underground (cave), build without removing anything. On the surface, raise everything just above the ground.

I did not and could not remove anything before building something, because inside a base the multitool is disabled. And with a multitool you never could build such a straight ceiling as in the first picture of this thread. Ready built structures since last week stay as they are - as as I know - fine removed dirt, rocks and flora (pic. 2).

It would be fine if it could just be as it was before: building something removes everything inside or above (i you use boards).

Hopefully I returned to my normal game, but same bug. :-(
Is my number of bases / components too big? Did I play too long?

@Aceacin - Don't think it's anything you did. The in the rock part of your base had more excavation than I've ever seen, so well done, NMS is not known to be so forgiving about that. You might have just hit a limit for that base.

This is an unlikely statement...any time you modify earth in a build, it will come back...it may take a month or two...but it does end up reclaiming it's spot. No offense- just have done some observing.

I think what is interesting is that it can take a significant amount of time before it reverts.

Re-established a pre-NEXT station on the same planet when NEXT launched. My old base still had Com Balls folks had left when visiting. Tried to dig down to them, but too deep. Since the icons were (and actually still are today) apparent, would check occasionally using my tunnels. No change in the tunnels for almost two months...and one day- they were gone as those never existed.

Really annoyed this is still happening. I remember them coming out with a patch last year that was supposed to fix it, but here we are.... *sigh*

Worse yet is that you cannot use your tool while inside your base. If they at least allowed you to do that, you could get rid of it. ARG!

Mh... Is there a mod for it... to use your multitool inside a base..?

I am having this same problem. I have only been playing a couple weeks and it filled my entire base and now I can't access anything. It was fine yesterday then full of terrain today. Please patch!!!!!!!

At first the screenshots should be uploadet.
Then click your name (right corner) -> profile -> screenshots
Open the shot you want.
Copy that link
Go back by arrows, 2 times, so you can re-edit your text.
Paste the copied link into your text.

That's it.
This is why most of my new bases are floating.

Yeah, sometimes terrain "regrows" inside your base for whatever reason.
I've had it happen because of multiplayer.

And you'd have to dig the entire base out again...
Good luck trying that when you're not allowed to use your multitool indoors.

I will try to have a lot of patience :steammocking:
