So now that activated indium apparently plummeted in value, what should we be farming?
Gold? Platinum? Something else? I haven't really checked the value of common deposits.

You should be crafting, not farming.

Fusion Ignitors, or Stasis.

Well with smuggling making nip nip buds sell for a ton in regulated systems, one thing you can do is make a base in a regulated system where you grow a bunch of nip nip buds in bio domes and build a trade terminal at that base. Then you can go harvest all the nip nip buds and sell them at the trade terminal and make a bunch of smuggling money. You can get a bunch of nip nip buds for planting the crops by buying them at outlaw stations.

Do you have a guide for these details? No point in reinventing the wheel :)

150m? More like 15m (unless those Geks have been ripping me off?)

I assume he meant 150 for each batch. Does 10 devices per batch sound reasonable?

For stasis devices only, just fill your ship like this and refine to plants then craft the stasis tree.

If you want the longer version, for stasis devices and fusion ignitors combined, this is the guide ... https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2872634187

not sure if you mean plants or mining but the plant approach uses approx 5 times as many build parts so thats a good reason to choose mining :)

"farm" in the general sense of a production line. Is it possible to find a planet with every required resource hot spot? Sorry, haven't looked at the guide yet.

Values vary from day to day and from system to system.
If you sell too much, values decrease as well.

Craft goods and sell these

If it's money you are after, but don't want to dupe or use the save editor, scrapping ships is still the way to go, time wise. And it appears to have gotten even better with 4.0

Get yourself either an Exotic ship or an S-class big hauler (better). Max out every storage slot in tech and main. You don't need any tech upgrades, as these do not increase the value of your ship. Now with all the increased storage slots in 4.0, it has to be much, much higher. My current guppy exotic is valued at 365,000,000, and it now only has 35/69 slots (prior to 4.0 it was maxed). I'm guessing a fully maxed S-class hauler now is around 500,000,000 (unless there is a value cap). Once you have a ship in this value range you can trade across for basically any ship that comes into the station for free and then relcaim your ship after the trade.

Next go to a 3 star Gek system that has big haulers coming into the space station and just scrap away. Even big A-class haulers will fetch you 150,000,000 a pop. If you scrap 10 per hour, that is 1.5 billion an hour. Plus with scraping you get storage augmentations for your other ships and tons of upgrade modules that can be sold for nanites (usually make about 4,000 nanites an hour).
Here's my guppy with value:

I just do the same as always... hunt for bones and buried tech.

Salt still works and you don't need the indium drive to mine it.
