Missing Farming Products...?
You are able to Grow many of the Strange, and Often Dangerous Crops found around the Galaxy, but Several of the Crops I have Harvested, are not on the List of Crops that can be Planted in the Base Hot Houses I Build, and I am Wondering why???
Missing Crops:
Frozen Tuber
Heptaploid Wheat
Sweet Root
Pulpy Roots
Jade Peas
Fireberry
Grahberry
Hexaberry

There may be more that I could have missed. but these are used in many of the Cooking Processes, so why would players not be able to Cultivate them???

Those ones are used for cooking, but they aren't used for crafting. The ones that are used for crafting are the ones you can grow.

Same reason you can't make things that let you gather all the materials on your base, got to keep some stuff you need to go out and explore to get. In-game reason would be these plants don't respond well to hydroponic cultivation, I'd imagine.

They are also the ones that are helpful in the early game to top up your life support or environmental hazard shield.

Because cooking is useless for the most part.

This. If cooking was really useful then it would make sense to add it to the farming system, but cooking is just another half baked add on because someone on Reddit thought it sounded like a good idea.

Cooking in and of itself may be worthless, But, Processing the Products a Couple of Step in the Food Processor, Sure does Raise the Value of the Out Put... If one is looking for income, and does not care about time used, That is a good Source...

The farming in this game makes me wish more games had Starbound's food system. No arbitrary hunger mechanic to artificially incentivize it, just food that provided awesome buffs that you could produce consistently with a good complex farm.
Necro! Outdated thread. The nutrient ingestor does exactly what @cksupreme wants.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
