Any help finding Mordite without killing stuff? 🤔
I am even on a planet that said on the ship scanner Mordite.
But I have scanned everything I can see, and run around for ages, without a single Mordite showing up.

Any advice.

Thanks.

If it list mordite on the planet resources it should be in ground deposit that you mine with the terrain manipulate.

You get Mordite from killing fauna. Or harvested from Mordite root and also found in some rocks. Also mineral deposits on marsh planets. You should have enough things attack you and not need to farm it.

"Living" Rocks on arid worlds are a good source of tons of Mordite. They will show up on your scan as two-star objects.

You can refine it.

* Faeciumx3
* Pugneum + Carbon
* Pugneum + Condensed Carbon
* Di-Hydrogen + Condensed Carbon

Even in games I hate those missions :"Kill XX creatures."
Good thing is that non-mandatory missions.
Once monolith required mordite, but -" base>medium refiner > mordite."

if you pin mordite in your catalogue it will generate a secondary mission to a nearby system that has mordite deposits on at least one planet

i came to say the same plus that DiH + CC is the fastest at 0.08sec/unit... compared to 0.72sec/unit for the first one and 0.36sec/unit for the middle two...

Given that Di-hydrogen and Condensed Carbon can also be "multiplied" relatively simply, this is also the most resource-efficient recipe.

Di-hydrogen x30 -> Di-hydrogen Jelly | Di-hydrogen Jelly -> Di-hydrogen x40
Condensed Carbon x1 + Oxygen x2 -> Condensed Carbon x6

Seriously guys, Id like to you all individually. But know that I am so very grateful, for all of the replies. 🚀

Just a little feedback.
:nmsatlas: I have never been attacked (well not yet) by any creature, only sentinels.
:nmsatlas: I will have a look at mining it as I'm still on the planet.,
:nmsatlas: But if I cant get any, I am sooo happy you can refine it.
:nmsatlas: I am very pleased your cat approved your message. 😸

Thanks again blokes.
I still say NMS has the best community on Steam. 👍🏻

i don't think i've ever needed Mordite.

Just feed a bunch of animals, pick up their droppings and refine it into mordite if you must collect mordite without killing animals. But as others have pointed out, if it was shown as one of the primary resources on the planet then you should be finding resource nodes with it - you probably won't find it by scanning plants and rocks if that's what you've been doing.

You sure about that? Seems more appropriate for a cat to approve of merciless slaughter for sports, lol. x3 Not hating btw, I'm a cat owner myself.

Thanks again guys.

As soon as I logged back in, and thanks to the excellent advice of all of you. I found a whopping big mine full of the stuff.
And then another, and another.... 😋

Horrors, the jellyfish that spawn when mining underwater, and anything you kill on a derelict freighter count toward a kill creature mission. At least they used to a few months ago.

Correct (even the security bots on a Derelict will count, even though they are not organic).

And even more useful for a pacifist player, witnessing predators killing other animals also counts towards your own kills.

😃Self defense? Not a problem.
Hey , thanks for pointing 👉 out.
I didn't think about this "happy" occasion.
