The specific expedition rewards are available for you in every save now: just go to the anomaly to pick them up. The specific expedition experience is separate from your main ones - you have to start each expedition from scratch.

I don't know what a chest is, or how it's duping things, but it sounds like your save might have gotten corrupted on the crash. You might be able to recover it using the save editor. You can certainly recover your void egg and/or anything else that you feel you were cheated out of:

If you're not going to make the expedition save your main then don't worry about it. Claim your rewards on your main and move on.

I know crashed are a problem for some players, it seems the game doesn't like certain systems. You might try shutting down any bloat ware you have running in the background or running a register repair app. I use re-image and never have crash issues.

I'm going to take a stab and say they are referring to one of the Exp 6 milestone rewards that gives you 7200 of Activated Indium (blue), Cadmium (red) and Emeril (green). Only their game glitched out and kept giving them the rewards so they ended up with 'fat' stacks and stacks which they then sold for millions of units.
