Sentinel Settlement Attacks
I was curious, but on both the xbox on and steam versions, once I have a settlement to run, there are always Sentinels attacking whenever I go to the settlement. Is that something that you can grow out of? Or is that simply A Feature? It's always a handful of drones, two repairers, and one mech attacking. Even when I manually fly in instead of teleporting, they're there.

Keep playing through the settlement missions, things will change.

Oh, and don't worry about the seemingly infinite settlement debt... That will change as well, but might take a while.

The sentinel squad you describe is part of the optional storyline "a trace of metal". Once you proceed with those events, this type of encounter should no longer occur. But there will be some corrupted drones that reoccur every now and then.

Ahh okay, thanks! I'd been working on that mission, but Tethys was making me wait.

Haha, that debt doesn't affect my money, so I wasn't worried.
I knew this settlement was going to be a slow start since I found a planet that hit four of my planetary milestones.
-Coldest Temp
-Hottest Temp
-Deepest Oceans
-Least Hospitable
It's near constantly blasted by "Sand Blizzards"

Your settlement will be attacked by sentinels about every three days*. You can actually see the percentage likelihood when you check your settlement status. This appears to be a permanent feature and no way to turn it off in game.

* assumes you play every day. If you play less often, just expect an attack every time you come back to the settlement. They are pretty easy-just annoying.

Yep, they don't stop permanently but at least they don't happen constantly, and we can track when the next attack comes from the settlement status screen.

I just wish the NPCs would do something besides run back and forth! My settlement is mainly Vy'Keen... Aren't they supposed to be strong warriors? (Or at least add some defenses to the construction opportunities)

Yeah, this is on a Vy'Keen system so you'd think they'd do more than run and give finger guns to other citizens as they flee.

Yeah, my Multi-Tool has a really good shotgun attachment, so it's easy to stop the attack quickly.

It's possible to stop sentinel attacks completely with the management decisions, but it takes a very long time.....

Thanks, Anvil! This is the first time that I have seen anyone with experience of that, and I have been wondering for awhile.

I've had where every time I beam in they attack.

I've had where even from the start I got very few.

Not sure what starting point sets them apart.

Both were C from the start. Both were Gek.

Both had around 250K in the hole.

Both behaved very differently.

Both ended up an S making a 900K(ish) a day. Where one never gets attacked and the other now and then still does.

Not sure why. But I find a little excitement beaming into a war zone. Even thou the enemy has zero chance of winning the battle.

I wish we could equip the settlements to handle this themselves. Sorry Vykeen, Trisolarins have WAY more craftiness and gutso than you do. Bet they wouldnt need me to fight there battles for them...
