Bad luck with guilds

Every star system I warp to since Orbital, visited or new, only ever has the Merchant's Guild. I am slowly filling up my inventory up with pirate bounties and there's nowhere to turn them in. Give me a Mercenary Guild, PLEASE.

Edit: focus on vykeen systems and/or try a colossal archive on the planet surface.

I also read somewhere that each region in space has a higher concentration of one of the guilds. You may want to try using a black hole or portal to change your luck.

I'm not sure if this is a true statement, but I've noticed whatever guild people see first after the update shows up like 90% of the time. Mine was mercs. Now I see mostly merc. Try re-visiting old stations to find what you need rather than jumping from star to star.

System race has nothing to do with the guild merchant in the space station... sadly I have not fleshed out what, if any correlations there are... other than completely random

As far as I can tell, it is region-dependent, just like derelict freighter make-up.

The region shows on the system info when on the galaxy map, so just keep trying different regions until you find one that has the guild envoy type that you want.

Just wanted to say that you have two options with the pirate transponders. Yes, you can donate them to the mercenary guild to increase mercenary standing. Or, you can just sell them at any trade terminal. So unless you really want/need to increase standing with the mercenaries, selling is an option as well.

But yeah, so far I've only had explorer guilds on space stations. But I've also only been to three systems since the update, so...?

Not necessarily. The wiki does not say that system race matters, only that the guilds are "associated with" specific races.

Within the Merchants Guild page, I read "The Merchants Guild is naturally dominated by the Gek, but it is not an exclusive club." I assumed the same applied to the other guild associations. My bad. I should have known atlas would make it almost purely rng.

Jaggid is 100% spot on... the GALACTIC region determines what faction GUILD is at the space station.

I was previously unaware of region in the game. Now that I know what and where to look, I warped to one of my older bases and found a Merc Guild. Just as was stated earlier in this thread, it's just for reputation which I've maxed out so I should have just sold them.
