Once I wanted to go to an engineer to upgrade my modules, and I was playing in open play. Guess what, since engis are popular, in mid flight I get interdicted, and while I did damage to them they still were a lot more powerful than me.
While this did not happen to me, just imagine a situation, you are going to colonia(a system far from the core worlds) and you get destroyed by a griefer. You lose ALL of your exploration data, and if you didin't go to any of the stations there you are sent to the beginning.
I'm sorry for going a bit off topic, but it's sad to see that it's literally mandatory to go solo play in many cases, when it's really fun to go around with some friends. At least NMS doesn't have that much of a problem. I think "Players can't damage me" should be an option in many other games.
And griefers should be banned as Orion said.
Until recently "Nobody can damage me", did not exclude damage from exocraft lasers though, did they fix that?
In Elite Dangerous at least you know, when you go from your friends' game into open play, it's officially PvP. In NMS, it's unfair because it's officially an exploration game, but the default setting is "player damage on" for newbies... Also players with and without Save Editors are together in the same session, any griefer with 2 brain cells can make himself 1000% OP without even the effort that is required in Elite Dangerous.
For everyone who gets stuck in a griefer base: I think you can report any base via the build menu. That doesn't actually report it to anyone, it just hides it for you so you can move again.
Actually we should ask on ZenDesk for a similar "ignore player" option, from the same menu where we can mute players.
I can imagine a good number of players here also play (or played) games like E:D, Eve Online, even COD and other pvp crap, and they want the same experience here. Too bad for them.
just a quick info. you can change stats with the save editor. for example you can give your ship 9999 damage per shot
Because of his responsible position he must release pressure^^
I hope he finds better ways in RL to manage the finances of your company...
They have a high opinion of themselves but nothing to validate it. So they try to shine by contrast.
