NMS crashing after update 3.4.1 Steam Deck

NMS was running fine this morning for me, I never had an issue ever while playing it on the deck. For some reason Is started crashing after update 3.4.1 . Are anyone experiencing the same on the steam deck? The game runs fine on my main PC.

Same here. My deck just updated and the game keeps crashing

Glad to see I am not the only one experiencing this. Just updated to 3.4.2, my game will boot fine until my character and environment load. Once I get to this point, the game crashes and a window pops up stating "The game has encountered an error and will now shutdown". Looking forward to a fix.

The funny thing I make a ticket in the NMS steam support person tells me is my deck is up to date. I'm sure they look like robots over there. This is why I decide to ask the community.

Same here lucas-cake what you are experiencing is exactly the same, keep me posted is you find a solution. And I will be doing the same.

They just pushed a patch to help with game crashes, unfortunately this did not seem to help, I submitted a ticket to hello games but I will be contacting Steam support regarding the matter.

Same here, NMS worked fine on steam deck last night, now on 3.4.1 crashes after the blank space travel loading sequence. I hope this will be fixed soon. What a bad timing for such an issue. Right before xmas holidays.

Same here I have tried everything I could think of to make it work. The funny thing I make a ticket on steam NMS support and they ask me if the deck was up to date, I found that response so robotic that make me smile (and cry a little).

I encourage you to also make a ticket and post your issue in other threads. To raise awareness of the situation.

it is holiday time..so prob will have to wait until next year, i am afraid.

Just found a fix for me, hopefully it works for you. I had you uninstall and reinstall the game. I guess since it is installed now under the new OS version it fixed itself and saved 60+ hours of gameplay for my current play through. Hope this helps

No, I try twice, is not working for me, I can create a new character but I cant play my save. Is fine on my widows pc. Is not only NMS that is having problems, there is people all over posting crashes for a lot a games after the update. But congrats, Im happy for you

Well my success was short lived, I just took a break from playing and tried to boot it up and now I am experiencing the same thing once more. I am also on stable for updates.

It lets me create a new character and play fine, but I can't play my old save. And is not the game, the game plays fine on my main pc.

I wish I had the liberty to test it on my main PC, unfortunately I will be away from it for about another month or so. The Steam Deck is all I have right now.

Im sorry, Hey just create a character on creative you should be able to have all you quicksilver stuff in the store. and play with that until you get back.

A guy on Reddit told me that he delete the game, and reinstalled and it work for him, another tell me that he create a new character went into setting low all video and graphics to a minimum including fov motion blur, and that allowed him to go to his main save. None of these work for me. But maybe you can give it a chance. Good luck

Lucas I found a fix, I fix it by removing my cape on my main pc.

Hmm I’ll have to try it, unfortunately I might have to uninstall and reinstall the game in order to remove the cape.

Had to revert to 3.3.3 in order to play the game and take my cape off. Once this was done I updated back to 3.4.2 and has worked fine since. Thanks for the help!

Adding Steamdeck compatibility was a huge mistake. It ruined the game for many players. Not just with the tech slots either. So it's about time Steamdeck user's experience some problems for once. I have nothing personal against the OP. But if we have to suffer. They should too.

Been a couple months but is this fixed yet because I just downloaded it and It black screens and crashes on boot
