Compare Sean Murray to those who find it much easier to lie to your face, like Marshall Applewhite or Peter Molyneux. Sean just lacks that 'cult leader' vibe to him that has allowed many to break the spell of hype much easier.

I'd be broken too if I knew I was lying to the masses about a product I possibly could never deliver.

Right now I can come up with a game that everyone on this planet would want to play and start listing features that sound amazing, but I know there's no chance I can deliver even 5% of that. That's why he was anxious to begin with. He was lying that about it.

He was lyin when he was applying to that job at Criterion or EA, he even admitted it, and he was almost certainly lying about NMS feature set, but the most disgusting thing is that they hiked the price up to 60EUR for something that has less content as Tetris.

I think its a bit of a stretch to place Sean into the category with someone like that. It probably was not a lie at the time but the refusal to put forth any retractions is the issue. That started a gigantic hype train on its way to a derailment at release.

There actually are clear cut lies from Sean Murray, like saying the "dinosaur demo planet" wasn't scripted and randomly picked.

It's proven to be scripted, the models were found in the game content in a folder called "E3 2015".

That IS lying, whether you want to see that doesn't change a thing about it.

So no, I would not want to hang with him, I don't trust him.
