Haven't seen the new asteroid belts yet
My graphics are maxed out so it's not dye to that. In fact, I haven't even seen the old asteroid belts. Did they minimize how often they showed up?
Not getting storms in space either

I don't even know what a space storm is supposed to look like, haven't seen one yet

I have seen the nebulae and storms (in the game the storms look like lightening storms - I'm not sure that real space weather is visible apart from the solar corona/flares, but maybe our view in NMS is from ship senors across broader wavelngths?)

I also haven't seen very dense asteroid belts, but it might be graphics limitations in my settings, I have found denser regions, just none like in the patch videos.

I haven't yet found any children of helios by shooting asteroids, not sure if they are already in the game, but rare, or coming in the expedition. I have only been in yellow and red star systems, so may visit some green and blue to check those out too.

You have to move around the systems space to find them. It seems that near the space stations they have been thinned out greatly. Once you pulse or even start traveling, you will see them. I was not aware that we were to have space storms though.

For now, children of Helios is only going to be an upcoming expedition thing. Some may have seen them on a bleed through. But I'm pretty sure this is much like the sand worm expedition. You get a rare egg out of it.

Scan space (C) while in your starship. Several asteroid POIs will pop up.

I saw it twice. It just happens spontaneously, but chances are higher if you wander around a system for longer duration or hyper drive to longer distances.

Tip for finding large asteroid clusters: while flying in space look for small points of red light. They'll be grouped close together, those are asteroids at long range. Keep moving toward them and they'll twinkle as you get closer. Boost in that direction and you'll be swimming in stones.

Thanks for tip. Did not know about the red light. Will try that out.

Reminds me of when I used to hunt for planets in Elite Dangerous back in those long gone days (before the overhaul) when you have no credits for advanced system scanner. You then cruise your ship and watch the background to spot planetary bodies small like stars but that are moving in the, by perspective, static star background.

For NMS, I used to just pulsed and watch the screen. Once I notice lots of "stones", I exit pulse and pan around back to it.
