Yeah, but the timer to summon more of them still counts down. At least, it should.
As Jaggid said, there seems to be a bug.
only problem is to get at the point to be able to do that risking to get melted by them
(shields+powerfull "gun", maybe pulse spitter + paralysis mortar&voltaic amplifier - but that will take some time to get)
They came after me inside the building, admitted they didn't see me as effectively and it is a good way to cut down the damage but they will still come in the door and shot at me when they saw me. The only good news was that the rate that they could get inside to have a go at me was greatly reduced.
Aggressive sentinel planet, manufacturing facility, mainline story (Null segment), new character @~6hr so not that well tooled up either. It was challenging.
Note that isn't a complaint, I appreciated the challenge but it certainly wasn't trivial to get out alive.
Kill all the sentinels inside, harvest glass, wait until the doggies were stuck in the floor and the others were around the other side of the building looking for me then run for ship under fire with weapon trace screaming past my shoulders. Claw sky and run until I lost the fighters.
No shields left when I got to the ship so it was very close.
That seems like a bug, since the code in the game literally is supposed to prevent that from happening!
I’ve also seen where a flying sentinel will get stuck in the wall of a building making it impossible to ‘get away’. Usually they are unkillable while stuck. You can of course save/quit/reload.
The 4 leg bot will shot you inside a building. Not the others.
And since it was the main storyline that decided that the facility was on an aggressive sentinel world it was fairly hard to avoid. You attract attention just by blowing the doors, then get swarmed. The only good point was that the sentinels that don't find their way inside won't shoot at you, that is correct but they aren't averse to flying in.
Even when I have the bug, which I mentioned earlier, where they continue to 'detect' me when I'm in a building, they don't actually shoot.
The only difference between the wanted levels is the amount of time you have to burn through waiting for the clock to run out.
