Just Started Game... Sentinals won't leave me alone
I was at the part where you are making the terrain manipulator and some little drone found me and started attacking. So I got in my ship for protection and took off to get away. Then ships started arriving and attacking me, over and over, I'd defeat them then a few seconds later more would arrive. How the hell am I supposed to deal with this mess?

Once a sentinel is alerted STOP mining. Wait until the sentinel moves away before resuming your mining.

Once you have a 1 * (star) wanted you have to hide to wait out the timer. Next time jump in your ship but WAIT until your wanted level (*** stars on top right of hud) go away. Usually takes about 1 minute from when you hop in your ship for 1 star. It’s longer for each wanted Star you have. Once you are no longer wanted you can hop out or take off, which floats your boat.

Simply boost into space and keep boosting in a straight line. You'll outrun them in a few seconds and the attack will stop.

I hadn't started mining yet at all

Every time I defeated the ships I'd try to boost away but when they would show up it could drop me out of pulse drive or warp or whatever and I'd be forced to fight them again

Then you were on an "aggressive sentinel" planet (sentinels will attack once they see you) and most likely playing in Survival mode when you should be playing normal mode until you understand the basics of the game.

Grab the blueprints for the base computer and terrain manipulator and hop back in your ship. Most likely the wanted level will not go away so as suggested above you'll have to make a run for it.

You are NEVER forced to fight, you can always run

When they drop out of space just fly in any given direction. Just flying. Straight flying. Give it some seconds and you're able to pulse again. One second of pulse is sufficient to clear your wanted level.

at the beginning there is almost no way to finish them off, with the result to stop them
ground based or space based at a vertein point it is too much

but maybe another player joining your game might be able to defend you

On land, you can hide inside a building or make a cave with your terrain manipulator. You can defeat them using this strategy early on if you want.

Hiding inside a building doesn't always work even in normal mode on an aggressive sentinel planet.

Hmm That's interesting. They can come in but never attack. Easy farming for me.

Oh I have a trading post across from a manufacturing facility. Farming sentinels and ships at the same time is so fun.

That doesn't make sense because Sentinels can never ever see you inside a building and will always lose you.

I was having this issue earlier as well, Sentinels would lock on and nothing I could do short of saving and quitting would shake them.

they do not despawn usually while one is in a building
and on agressive will quite likely re-attack on sight when player leaves the building

Finding or digging a hole actually works pretty well.

There is some kind of bug that I'm experiencing right now where the sentinels will stay hostile and still "Detect" me even when I'm inside a building or have dug a hole and gone deep. Edit to add: They don't attack me indoors, they just stay in the mode where I'm detected so no timer countdown for going non-hostile ever happens.

It doesn't happen all of the time, not even most of the time, but once it starts happening it keeps happening until I do a reload (exit not necessary).
