Holiday Christmas decorations would be fun

I think it would be fun to have decoration sets for the different holidays, especially Christmas. I saw one photo but I don't know where that a person sort of had their base decorated. Didn't mark it so I have no idea what they did. It would be fun to have more furniture & decor for our bases. I realize not everyone likes to build fancy bases but for those of us that do more stuff would be great. Plus it gives a reason to keep digging up the data things.

no thank you, this is a completely different universe than what we live in,the species thankfully have no concept of holidays we celebrate and thats a good thing. dont need to drag real world religious BS into the game

I made a festive tree out of the red and green lights. I tried to make a star out of the white lights but it looks off. Maybe an "angel" on top lol, using a glowing green floater

While I don't care for holiday stuff myself, I don't see the harm in having more options for stuff. Lots of stuff can be repurposed for other projects.

Christmas is offensive to too many people as you can see 😂, so that won't happen unfortunately

It's only offensive bc we who celebrate it suffer from historical guilts lol. Imagine if Jews or Arabs felt the same shame of History, when celebrating their holidays. They do not, even when the purpose of some of those holidays is in fact to shame the beleiver!

Anyway

I think in NMS the universe is so alien and removed from our time and place in the universe that Christmas events wouldn't make sense. But then again, we have the Normandy which shows English letters on the side of it. Perhaps the material that seperates universes is not so strong, and maybe something that resembles Christmas still exists in every iteration where sentients emerge. Some sort of yearly celebration that us concerned with getting through the toughest months of the year.

Adding IRL stuff and events into a sci fi world can be a slippery slope into lore-breaking faults.

Something that comes to mind is how in the original Fallout series, there was hardly any mention of the USA or any sighting of Americana. That was a world forgotten, with the new world being affected by enitirely different cultural and societal memes. But in recent games they abandoned that for cheesy Americana cash grabs and turkey costumes for Thanksgiving(Native American are denied justice even in fiction). Ultimately this was a mistake and Fallout willnever be taken seriously again unless they revamp it. I wouldn't want that happening to NMS just because holiday swag was added.

Use the base building tools provided to create your own holiday theme. I have seen some trees and festive lights done by players before. All it takes is your creativity.
