I am having the same issue

The solution for me was to change a privacy setting in Steam. View your own profile. Then click on edit profile. Then select My privacy settings. From here there is a setting called " Game Details". Select Friends Only for this setting, and then changing this should make it to where you can visit your friend's base.

sorry to necro but my husband is still having this issue. he's already set to friends only. we're in the same group, in the same session, and i'm able to teleport to his bases, but he can't teleport to mine.

Hate to tell you this bu tthis is an ongoing issue since the betrra. The person who posted the "fix" obviously also believes that tying your shoelaces before going out brings good luck because they don't fall down (as much)

Stating that a random act "fixed" an intermittent issue is ludicrous. I have no idea why the developers have done nothing to fix this issue especially since it has been getting worse as the database fills with more and more bases. There is loads of speculation as to what causes it including but not limited to the devs being to cheap to pay for the required bandwidth needed to allow people to always access their friends bases at will. This issue even occurs when you are attempting to teleport to a base that is only 1000 units away on the same planet that you just teleported from ....
