This is not true. I play coop with my wife, and we've played since the start.
- You will both spawn in the same system.
- You both have your own local saves, so you can still play separately
- Whenever someone joins your game, they will spawn in the same system as you, regardless of where they were before.
When you launch the game, select "Host Multiplayer" and host a session that way.
back when my husband i played, there was no such thing as a host option. you could only start a regular game and then be joined, which you then had to navigate to eachother from, it didn't relocate you automatically. dunno when that changed.
np ^^ since the host option was added i don't know how close it will put you to eachother, but it shouldn't take too long to get your ships up and running and find eachother if like flappers said it puts you in the same system. (and yes system and planet are different, each solar system has 1 or more different planets)
