In all seriousness, i think this would be a cool feature. +1
And you'll be banned from steam.
So have fun.
Yup ..
... and there goes +Aaark, making assumptions again
Pretty sure I did.
Would any of you guys just love to throw away all your progress for an online account, because a minority of the players can't help themselves from cheating?
Do you really want to start THAT 'debate' again ..
....all they would have to do is take the exact same game, and add a new mode, call it "competitive" or "PVP"....and lock it so that the settings are stuck with everyone having their PVP turned on, without being able to change it off...
and PRESTO...you got pvp....like, we understand that thats not what hello games wants and that it wouldn't be "tailored" to pvp....but at least make it so when we DO find someone, we can attack them and not have them be immune...it can be the exact same game with the exact same weapons and the exact same AI.....but that is ALL it would take to at least "throw a bone" to the millions of people who just can't enjoy the game and will not play it BECAUSE it is only PVE with co op (for the most part)
Nice Necro
You would also have to encrypt player files which will create a whole new set of problems. And because its not "tailored to pvp" you will not have "millions" playing it, rather a few thousand. So few players would play this mode that randomly finding another player with be near impossible. This will lead the few players who bought the game for open pvp to demand changes to the base game.
This is straight up a terrible idea, please let it die.
"Laser tag" battles for quick silver is an interesting idea.
And it eliminates the temptation to be mean and keep the other player's stuff.
I'm not sure how you'd be able to moderate the PvP battles, just like users are different and should be respected for the way they think and behave. Yet some would sooner come at you where you are blind and attack. but then you get unfounded accusations flying around about "cowardice", "cheating", "lacking honour" which is what one user is set on when their false sense of entitlement and confirmation bias gets shot to hell on their death, the other will call them out as "loud", "rude", "a n00b", need to "git gud" and so forth, and their sense of entitlement is increased and then they feel the need to be a filthy braggart.
if PvP battles must happen, disable chat altogether and then put a cooldown between battles, say 15-20 minutes to allow the user to come off their adrenaline high and allow their thinking and emotions to return to normal. Then limit the amount of PvP battles to three matches if the same individuals are vs. each other a day to prevent them from digging in too deeply and allows them to do something else.
PvP battles earn a few credits and nanites per match and doing a certain amount of PvP battles should net a weekly total of quicksilver, for example taking part in 10 or 20 PvP matches.
However, I wouldn't want to be forced to play in that mode all the time.
I remember in one thread I was showing off what I thought was my amazing 13k damage multi-tool and then in literally the first reply someone posted a screenshot of one with more than double damage.
I don't know anything about the PVP game but I think a mechanic of it should be everyone outputs the same damage
This way, more emphasis on dodging and stealth and other fun PVP things.
