This is totally incorrect. Are we playing the same game?
Sentinels waves in spaces never end, you can't kill them all.
You can't destroy their "fregate".
You can't land on a planet while being chased by Sentinel Interceptors.
Disabling a Sentinel Pillar will not stop Sentinel attacks in space.
The only two way ways to deal with this:
Summon the Anomaly and dock. Then teleport out.
Run to a space station and dock. Then teleport out.
Also, this thread is over 4 years old...
I found a Planet with gravtino orbs everywhere, I naturally harvested them because you can get like 1M units for like 20 of em sentinels everywhere.
Harvesting Grav Balls, Venom Sacks or Sentient Plants will always trigger Sentinels, even on peaceful planets. If you want to grab the Grav Balls you have to run away from the Sentinels on the planet surface first and hide until they stop searching for you. Only then, once the combat alert ends and Sentinel forces are disabled, you can get into your ship and fly away. If you take off in your ship while the Sentinels are alert and in combat mode your only chance will be the Anomaly or a Space Station as you won't be able to land any more. A quick exocraft helps with the ground getaway.
They just kept coming!
My ship also wouldn't land...
The new(ish) normal settings appear to be designed to teach newer players what it's like to die in space.
Problem is that it sometimes bug (intermittent) out and you get in a infinite loop of sentinels waves spawning in.
Can also happen on a planet.
In fact, IMO that should be something that is very difficult. If that's expected to be the primary method of ending a sentinel encounter, you either have to make it too easy so that it's achievable by those at all levels, or it's a death sentence until you get upgraded enough to survive it.
IMO, there needs to be ways that you can escape the encounter, either if/when you don't want to deal with it, or if you realize you're in over your head.
