How the hell do u stop the sentinel ships in space?
Seriously, no matter how many I kill they keep coming back, I can't put run them as it disables my pulse drive, can't hyper drive out, nearest space station is 15 mins away with boost. Even going down to the planet and killing them doesn't stop, they just spawn more when I go back into space. They really need to remove sentinels until this stuff is fixed.

In between waves your pulse engine should come back on line for a few seconds until the next group spawns in to disable it. You can escape by pulsing out in any direction for a couple of minutes. They typically won't follow you very far into the void.

Yeah, can't take out a sentinel freighter, even if you have your own. . .and own fleet. . .it's kinda bs

simple kill all the wave of sentinel once you kill the enemy fregate you can go to a spot in one of the planet to destroy the sentinel presence in the area

Is there also some reason they seem to attack on other planets? I found on a couple of really hazardous planets, the basic sentinels were constantly attacking & stating something about suppression disabled. I was wondering if it was because I had a few of their parts in my inventory.
You can scan a planet before landing on it, then you will see the level the Sentinels are at.

This is totally incorrect. Are we playing the same game?

Sentinels waves in spaces never end, you can't kill them all.
You can't destroy their "fregate".
You can't land on a planet while being chased by Sentinel Interceptors.
Disabling a Sentinel Pillar will not stop Sentinel attacks in space.

The only two way ways to deal with this:
Summon the Anomaly and dock. Then teleport out.
Run to a space station and dock. Then teleport out.

Also, this thread is over 4 years old...

I found some Gravitino Orbs on an aggressive sentinel planet. Stole them, then immediately took off for space. Of course I expected the Sentinel ship to come after me. What I didn't expect was for it to follow me back to the planet's surface. Fortunately, it wasn't hard to dispatch. After that, no other ships spawned in. So my suggestion is, go to space, then immediately return to the planet once a sentinel ship spawns in. Kill it, and that should speed up your wanted level going down.

I found a Planet with gravtino orbs everywhere, I naturally harvested them because you can get like 1M units for like 20 of em sentinels everywhere.

You've quoted a very old post. This doesn't work anymore. Sentinels will follow you all the way to the planet surface in infinite waves too and the game won't let you land as long as you're "in combat". For most players running towards a planet is a suicide move now.

Harvesting Grav Balls, Venom Sacks or Sentient Plants will always trigger Sentinels, even on peaceful planets. If you want to grab the Grav Balls you have to run away from the Sentinels on the planet surface first and hide until they stop searching for you. Only then, once the combat alert ends and Sentinel forces are disabled, you can get into your ship and fly away. If you take off in your ship while the Sentinels are alert and in combat mode your only chance will be the Anomaly or a Space Station as you won't be able to land any more. A quick exocraft helps with the ground getaway.

I discovered that I need to dig a hole too!
They just kept coming!
My ship also wouldn't land...
Faceplant 2023 年 5 月 5 日 下午 1:32
There's a setting that you have to change to allow landing during combat. Google says it something like "auto combat". Then you can land near any building and hop in. That should stop the combat after a few seconds.

The new(ish) normal settings appear to be designed to teach newer players what it's like to die in space.

You can summon the Space Anomaly and dock with it, as long as you're not in atmo. You'll take a beating as you get tractored in XD

This was apparently changed again in Interceptor. I don't play NMS any more but you're supposed to be able to destroy the mothership now and they no longer come in infinite waves in space like they used to. Check this out since I'm not 100% sure how this works now, but it's different.

5 waves before the mothership.
Problem is that it sometimes bug (intermittent) out and you get in a infinite loop of sentinels waves spawning in.
Can also happen on a planet.
Faceplant 2023 年 5 月 5 日 下午 4:11
Yes, you can destroy the mothership, but that's not always a viable option, especially if you're just starting out.

In fact, IMO that should be something that is very difficult. If that's expected to be the primary method of ending a sentinel encounter, you either have to make it too easy so that it's achievable by those at all levels, or it's a death sentence until you get upgraded enough to survive it.

IMO, there needs to be ways that you can escape the encounter, either if/when you don't want to deal with it, or if you realize you're in over your head.
