tethys and the walker brain

i swear iteration tethys in the anomaly/nexus asked me for a walker brain as vengeance against the sentinels but now that i have one they won't talk to me...

am i tripping? or was this a thing? should i keep holding onto this brain or just sell it?

Yeah... I have this happen constantly. If I don't have one in my inventory they want to talk about it but the second I get it in my inventory they don't want to talk. Looks like it is just part of their conversation pattern or something.

Keep the brain, if he never asks again use it for upgrades, or for the combat modules for frigates.

That Tethys guy switches up what it will accept each time you interact with it. You just need to have the right thing at the right time. I believe it is by design...but kind of annoying. Based on the few times I got lucky...not really worth trying to maintain a stockpile of potential things for it.

You can only do it once per week, and it doesn't seem to be enabled at a consistent time of the week. I've gone to my freighter (pre-desolation) and grabbed one when he asks, and successfully traded it (he gives a random upgrade), but there may be a limit to what you can do between when he asks and when you give it. You may have to wait until next week.

That one, the one that looks like a greeter at the entrance ramp, and the rando over by Helios -- I never had any meaningful interaction with. Certainly never been asked for a Walker Brain.

Edit: Mr. Bufferlow explains. Thanks. Yes, I've never got more than 10 nanites for anything I've given him. Salvaged Tech? 10 nanites. Storm Crystal? 10 nanites. I assume a Walker Brain would net 10 nanites too.

Regardless, "Tethys and the Walker Brain" would be a good band name.

I tried talking to Tethys every day for 2 weeks with a Walker Brain in my inventory -- they always just say they aren't interested in talking. I take the Walker Brain out of my inventory? They ask about Walker Brains. So, unless it is bugged on my end, that's how it has been for quite a while.
