Storage Container Bug

I'm unable to take anything out of my storage containers except for the item that is in the top left slot. With everything else, a red message flashes for less than a second saying 'This technology is critically damaged', so I think the game thinks storage containers are something else? Regardless, most of my stuff is trapped in there and I haven't a clue how to get it out.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I fixed this problem by speaking to my base armorer and inspecting the multi-tool he offered. That was literally all I did. The game treats inventory slots in a strange manner.

Well, I fixed this by rebooting the game. Such a silly bug -_-

Little late on the reply here, but I noticed this issue last night and, strangely enough, it required me to move some items that I had in Exosuit Cargo into my regular Exo inventory (to free up a few Cargo slots). Then, while back inside the Storage Container, I swapped to the Cargo inventory view, and it would finally let me move the items it was holding hostage into my open Cargo slots.

i used this method to "fix" my problem as well. i had recently "bought" a crashed ship, to use as a free coupon in buying an undamaged ship. i did not repair it and flew it to the freighter, swapped to my regular ship and then i had the storage container bug. im not saying for anyone else to do this, but it mught help for reporting purposes

It will reoccur. Just save and reload on your freighter to get access back.

Same bug happening to me as well, new to the game so dont know if this is an unfixed issue from long ago as I have seen mentions of this from over a year ago or if its a new bug with old symptoms

I've been told that transferring an item from storage into your suite using the X option will correct the bug. Haven't had it a 2nd time yet myself to test this but yes reloading the game will also fix the issue.

I was able to move the stuck stack by using the split stack key (W on the PC) and then moving the items to a storage spot that was not stuck. The split stack key only adds 10 items at a time, but it's quicker than re-loading the game.

The stuck stack continued to stay stuck after moving all items out of it.

I'll try the Armourer fix next time this happens to me, but normally, I save exit and restart the game. Staying in game and reloading doesnt fix it for me.

If the item you try to transfer is 'stuck', transfer a few other items first, then try the original item again. This may cause an item in your inventory to duplicate itself. For me it happens with the 3rd slot from the left in the top row. I leave a high value item in that slot just in case. I consider it compensation for dealing with all the bugs.

The "W and S"-splitting stack worked once, then the bug was back and now nothing of these "fixes" work for me.

I really like this "Inventory-Management-Game" :D
but not if the inventory isnt accessible anymore... :(
I guess reloading the game should work, but no patience right now.

btw.: Is it intentional that you can teleport your stuff from your freighter to your storage (on a planet) Guess not.
That might have triggered it for me, will avoid this next time and see if it stops this.

Have you tried a restart of the game followed by immediately trying to move the item thats stuck? Works for me when it happens ( regularly)

Yes, that is intentional.. you are supposed to be able to transfer directly to storage from anything to anywhere..
