Balance Proposal/ new OP Strategies discussed
TLDR:
- revert the Order so "Build a curch" and "Esablish an outpost" have individual scaling costs again
- make "Military hospital" a unique building

While I love the new update as whole, the combination of "Military hospital" + The order immidiately stood out, even better in combination with the new tech card "Conscription" to tank your Health without losing battles.

I tried it on ascention I and found out that "Establish an outpoast" now always costs as much as "build a curch", but contrary to "Build a curch" does not increase the crusader cost. I check the patch note and have not found that mentioned anywhere, so I am still wondering whether this is intentional or not?

Regardless, I would strongly argue to revert this change. "Establish an outpost" was already borderling useless, while playing the order the way it is intended (interacting with the faith mechanic), once you get build a curch up to +200 cursarde cost, spending that amount for a measly +5 hp simply is not worh it. By that point you are fighting groups of 100+ enemies so being of by 5 HP is not very likely and incesting early while it is cheap is something you cant afford due to the long therm economy los.

HOWEVER: The new Military hosital puts another twist on this (and in turn utterly breaks this change) You really only need 1 field hospital + conscription and you will cruise through a nightmare run by never "building a curch" and simply alway converting all cursaders to max HP

By the end of the first try (on nightmare, which seemd impossible before) I was crushing the dungeon siting at 1000 max HP with plenty to spare , recruiting 600 untis on the field hospital.

Taking this one step further, you can outscale endless easily (or at least longer than anybody should care to play) by loosing on purpous until you healt drops critically low, then spamming a round of Military hospitals followed by more loosing on purpous.
I used an autoclicker and ran it for 15 min which managed to spend about 1.000.000 of the 6.5 mio cursaders I had at that point to get to 100.000 max HP. In the final round I cared to play I earned 10.000.000 mio cursaders -> which translates to 1.000.000 mio max hp. which (assuming 8 field hospitals) translates back to 24.000.000 mio soldiers!

I am all for busted combos, but clearing Nightmare without effort just feels cheap. And getting a single field hospital is really easy given the banish mechanic.

I have to disagree; it's a single player game, feel free to not "min/max" and ask the dev to take away strategies others enjoy such as effectively endless infinite combos (in some cases).

Maybe if they game was narrow I would agree with you but it's wide enough in units/cards that you (in your play through) can go into your OWN tech tree and "banish" those cards so you don't have to see them if you can't restrain yourself from "abusing" them.

New Player Spoiler: To his point though, military hospital is OP especially as it's not unique and that goes for ANY faction. Even not mix/max'ing infinite combos, "the Order", the easy win from extreme to accession 10 to endless is simply "get to 1 life as fast as you can via goodie huts, military hospital (as many as you can get), Veterans Hall, Blacksmith, the rest don't matter, unlosable". It's not really OP as you don't have to do it PLUS by the time you get Blacksmith (near top of the tech tree) you've already pretty much figured out the game hence you aren't really losing out anything at that point. TBH I just have a house rule no military hospitals except Nightmare or Ascension > 6.
Thank you for your edit. I was kinda hoping for some sort of acknowledgement from the dev, since they seem pretty active here. Alas it has not happened...

I think there is a distinction to be made. As I said I am all for "OP" strat, however if it gets to the point of being ininetly reproducable with 0 skill involved, so you have to actively self limit to compensate for it, I think it should be adressed. Why bother haveing a high dificullty if it can be beaten with 0 skill anyway.
As I said, (1) nothing makes you take advantage of that and you are basically forcing others to play YOUR game; plenty of people like infinite zero skill combos. Just don't use it, nothing stopping you but you. (2) The "skill" is in figuring that out. I have nearly two hundred hours in this game and never figured that out, most people I'm betting won't. And not everyone (not even the majority) of players troll the Internet looking for "exploits".

I 100% agree with you if this game was multiplayer but it's not. Game has hundred+ (?) of buildings, simply go into your tech tree and "banish" the MH so you don't have to see it again and it will never come up "forcing" you to take it when it does. You seem to be unable to limit yourself, that's not a dev problem, that's a self control problem.

TBH I hate unique buildings or tech progression within a single game (I actually love the tech tree on this game; wish more did it this way), it's my damn game, let me play it how I WANT; I'm not forcing external rule changes on you to limit your joy.
Just FYI, the "Build an outpost" not scaling is indeed a bug. That should limit things
